bees

it seems as if the bees are making a comeback. i've been noticing a lot more flying around this year, compared to last year, though the ones i've seen looked a bit more weak and slow than usual. at any rate, i'm pretty sure i stepped on one earlier today. i've done it before, but this time, the experience was much more easy to deal with. the fact that it was much less painful and swelled less may have had something to do with the bee being small and weak. i think, though, that it had more to do with my being better prepared and knowing how to handle the situation.
-checked for stinger
-cleaned with peroxide solution
-applied some ice for a few minutes
-meditated, focusing on my foot and the reduction of pain and inflammation
-listened to bert kaempfert (especially "a swingin' safari")
